The launch of AEROS MH-1, the second Portuguese satellite, into orbit
AEROS MH-1, a Portuguese satellite, was launched yesterday, in a Space X Falcon 9 rocket, with live online transmission. The whereabouts of the satellite can be tracked, in real time, on an application developed by the AIR Centre.

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership announced its second joint transnational call, “Unified Paths to a Climate-Neutral, Sustainable, and Resilient Blue Economy: Engaging Civil Society, Academia, Policy, and Industry”, which aims to support transnational research and innovation projects of 36 months duration.
NextOcean Showcase event to Drive Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture
On March 1, 2024, the AIR Centre and Colab+Atlantic hosted the NextOcean Showcase event at TERINOV – Science Technology Park, in Terceira, Azores; Plymouth, UK; and Athens, Greece. On the morning of February 28th, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, establishing a partnership between the Fulbright Commission and the AIR Centre – Atlantic International Research Centre, for the implementation of the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award for the Ocean, Climate and Space / AIR Centre.
