DESENVOLVE 21 is a workshop inspired by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop’s aims at stimulating the integration of a sustainable technological development on the global, regional and local scales by increasing cooperation between research institutions, companies and civil society. The event will be held online on June 28, 29 and 30, 2021.
Health, Oceans, Energy and Sustainability
The DESENVOLVE 21 workshop focuses on three main topics: Energy, Oceans and Health. These areas stand out for being addressed directly or indirectly in most of the SDGs. The event seeks to promote sustainability based on the identification and implementation of profound transformations in different countries, through integrated actions that include governments, civil society, scientific institutions, and the private sector.
Organization
DESENVOLVE 21 will convene entirely online on June 28, 29 and 30, 2021. The workshop will be organized by institutions based in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a partnership that brings together: researchers from The Alberto Luiz Coimbra Graduate Institute (COPPE/UFRJ), through the Laboratory of Computational Methods in Engineering (LAMCE), and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), in association with the Atlantic International Research Centre (AIR Centre), an international collaborative framework that address global challenges and local priorities in the Atlantic Ocean, promoting an integrative approach to space, climate, ocean and energy.
