Portuguese Chairmanship of EUREKA
Following the Austrian EUREKA Chairmanship, it will be Portugal’s turn to assume Chairmanship from the 1st July 2021 till the 30th June 2022, with an inspiring motto “Innovation for a Greener, Digital and Healthier Planet through a collaborative approach“. This coincides with the co-presidency by Portugal of the Council of the European Space Agency (ESA), during the year of 2021, and follows the Presidency of the Council of European Union (January-June 2021). During this third time that Portugal assumes the presidency of EUREKA, the country aims to increase the network’s global footprint, focusing on the Atlantic and boosting collaboration with countries in Africa and Latin America. This way, the Portuguese Chairmanship is set on contributing to the success of EUREKA as a major tool to promote research and innovation, strengthening the bottom-up, open and flexible nature of the network by building up on the work done by the Austrian Chairmanship.
