Networking Friday with Ocean KAN

Get to Know the Ocean Knowledge Action Network

On February 9, 2024, 3-5 PM CET for this Networking Friday, we turn over hosting to the Ocean Knowledge Action Network (Ocean KAN). We take a look at how the Ocean KAN has grown, in just two short years, to become a tight-knit, intimate community that includes members from 30 countries. You will meet members of the Ocean KAN community, participate in 1:1 breakouts to meet new people, and experience the Ocean KAN way of working.

Programme:

More Information about Ocean KAN:

The Ocean KAN is a cross-network community of people from around the globe who are working to bring together scientists and stakeholders for the co-design of ocean science. We are a self-organizing and decentralized network where people share knowledge and support each other to better co-design ocean science, build and maintain effective networks, and address the many other challenges and opportunities that come from using science to inform ocean decision-making.

Our network connects Indigenous scientists, traditional knowledge holders, non-Indigenous researchers, and local ocean communities — spurring knowledge exchange on equal, equitable terms.
