The Atlantic Cloud is moving!

The Atlantic Cloud, a non-profit cloud computing infrastructure, is gaining traction for its innovative approach to serve the communities, science, and sustainable development of the Atlantic region. This infrastructure will provide reliable and efficient computing resources to support transatlantic collaborative work, including environmental monitoring and disaster response. By leveraging the power of cloud computing, the Atlantic Cloud aims to enhance the region’s resilience and ability to adapt to the big challenges, such as climate change.

In April 2024, the Laboratory of Computational Methods for Engineering (LAMCE), from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), has made some of its infrastructure available to integrate the Atlantic Cloud, adding the AIR Centre’s computational infrastructure manly centered on the data center on Terceira Island, Azores.

With its focus on sustainability and community engagement, the Atlantic Cloud is poised to make a lasting impact on the region, fostering a more connected and resilient Atlantic community.
