OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
The duties for the Administrative Officer will be varied. We are looking for an organised individual to provide administrative support to the day-to-day running of the research centre reporting to the Centre’s Administrative responsible. As an Administrative Officer, you will join a young, dynamic and multidisciplinary team. You will also have the opportunity to work in an international environment involving different stakeholders from alongside the Atlantic Ocean from Africa, North, Central and South America, Europe and other countries engaging with the AIR Centre activities.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Administrative and financial institutional and project related support;
- Maintain administrative and financial institutional and project related online and physical records;
- Support the preparation and implementation of public procurement calls;
- Support to the preparation and organization of meetings, workshops, seminars, outreach activities etc.;
- Support to the preparation of presentations and other documents in scope of the Centre’s Board of Directors and General Assembly meetings;
- Other tasks inherent to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
- Academic qualification: Higher education degree. Preference given to administration and management fields or related ones;
- Experience in the preparation and implementation in public procurement calls is a plus;
- Fluent in English and Portuguese (mandatory);
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
- Ability to work in a dynamic team, with excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Attention to detail and organization;
- Good time management and prioritization skills;
- Flexibility and adaptability;
- Skilled in both written and verbal English communication.

The Headquarters of the AIR Centre are located in Terceira island, Azores and an office in Lisbon. The location of this position is in Lisbon.
