OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

The duties for the Communication Officer will be varied. We are looking for an organised individual to develop and implement the Centre’s communication strategy and create compelling and engaging content that reinforces the vision and ambition of the AIR Centre. As Communication Officer, you will join a young, dynamic and multidisciplinary team. You will also have the opportunity to work in an international environment involving different stakeholders from alongside the Atlantic Ocean from Africa, North, Central and South America, Europe and other countries engaging with the AIR Centre activities.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Plan and implement the Centre’s communication and dissemination strategy;
  • Develop and maintain the Centre’s communication channels and materials;
  • Edit and ensure that the Centre’s website contents are relevant;
  • Create interactive social media contents and campaigns;
  • Write Centre’s announcements and news articles on key developments;
  • Ensures all content complies with the Centre’s standards and style guides;
  • Support the Project Manager in the communication and dissemination of projects participated by the AIR Centre;
  • Other tasks inherent to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Academic qualification: Higher education degree or Bachelor degree in communications or related field;
  • Fluent in English (mandatory);
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills;
  • Knowledge in communication and social media strategies;
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office tools and various social media applications;
  • Graphic design skills, including knowledge of Adobe tools;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team, with excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Good time management and prioritization skills;
  • Flexibility and adaptability.

The Headquarters of the AIR Centre are located in Terceira island, Azores and an office in Lisbon. The location of this position is in Lisbon.
