LASIGE Summer of Research students explore knowledge transfer at TTC@ULisboa

Students from the LASIGE Summer of Research 2026 visited the TTC@ULisboa on 8 September, as part of a programme that took place at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon from 1 July to 11 September. The initiative, organised by the Comissão de Estudantes de Doutoramento do LASIGE, offers undergraduate and master’s students an opportunity to experience research environments and explore different scientific fields while learning about research practices, innovation pathways and knowledge transfer processes.

The TTC@ULisboa, the university’s Technology Transfer Centre, plays an important role in promoting the value of knowledge produced at the University of Lisbon, supporting innovation and strengthening the connection between academic research, society and the business sector. By welcoming the students to its facilities, the TTC provided direct contact with its work in knowledge valorisation and technology transfer.

Within this context, the AIR Centre was invited to present some of the work it develops in the fields of ocean science, policy and international cooperation. The presentation was delivered by Valerie de Liedekerke, Head of the AIR Centre’s Ocean Policy and Stakeholders Engagement programme, who introduced students to ongoing initiatives and the organisation’s approach to collaborative research across the Atlantic.
