Meeting in Science and Engineering highlighted challenges in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

The AIR Centre participated at the 9th Interdisciplinary Interinstitutional Meeting in Science and Engineering, at CIMATEC, Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, on December 4-6, 2024.
The Event was co-organized by the Centre for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence for Industry (CPA-IA), in partnership with AIR Centre, SENAI CIMATEC, the Instituto Politécnico da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (IP-UERJ), the Computational Modelling and IMCM.
Miguel Miranda, AIR Centre Executive Director and the Data Science team coordinated by João Pinelo, addressed challenges about cooperation and science, emphasizing the importance of Data Science and its opportunities as well as scientific cooperation. The agenda focused on topics like Artificial Intelligence, Marine Research, Science and Technologies.
The meeting aimed to promote dialogue, exchange of experiences and the collaboration between different areas of knowledge and institutions.
On December 4, the AIR Centre presented an award – the first prize in Machine Learning Competition (“Probabilistic image classification Automatic Identification of Internal Waves”) – Gilberto Titericz Junior (Data Scientist at NVIDIA Rapids).
The AIR Centre is aligned with CPA-IA’s mission of implementing technologies and artificial intelligence, and continues to support technological innovations as well as data science and research, through international cooperation.
