The AIR Centre and Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON) will take part in the Ocean Knowledge Action Network (Ocean KAN) Town Hall at the One Ocean Science Congress 2025 (OOSC25), held from June 3–6.
Scheduled for June 4, the Town Hall aims to elevate diverse voices in ocean science ahead of the upcoming UN Ocean Conference.
Drawing on regional listening sessions across Latin America, the Caribbean, California, the Western Indian Ocean, and East Asia, the event will spotlight local and bioregional insights as vital to co-designing effective, inclusive ocean solutions – beyond the frameworks set by global treaties.
The AIR Centre and MBON’s involvement reflects their ongoing commitment to bridging scientific and traditional knowledge systems. In addition to the Town Hall, both partners will contribute to the Congress through a co-authored poster and presentation, underscoring their leadership in collaborative, actionable ocean science.
OOSC25 offers a vital platform for shaping the future of ocean knowledge and governance on a global scale.
