AIR Centre meets with Ugandan experts from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) to explore future collaboration

On April 21, the AIR Centre welcomed a delegation from Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Uganda, for a meeting at the University of Lisbon. The visit was led by Professors David Katamba and Tom Tamale, and accompanied by Ana Ribeiro, Director of the University of Lisbon’s Tropical College, and Teresa Vaz, International Cooperation Manager at the same institution.

The AIR Centre was represented by Miguel Miranda, Executive Director, Mafalda Carapuço, Deputy Executive Director, and researchers Ana Faria and Alessandro Colombo.

The delegation was in Lisbon as part of the final phase of the ICT‑4MRPQ project (2023–2026), a collaborative initiative between African and European partners aimed to strengthen Uganda’s Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through the strategic use of digital tools to improve the quality, management, and supervision of master’s research.

The meeting with the AIR Centre created an opportunity to share some of the Centre’s scientific programmes and explore possibilities for future collaboration. The discussion opened the door to potential connections between the AIR Centre’s transatlantic research network and MUBS’s expanding agenda in research and innovation.
