Brussels hosts All-Atlantic Forum 2025

The All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance (AAORIA) Forum 2025 is being held this month in Brussels on September 25-26, bringing together Atlantic ocean stakeholders for another milestone gathering.

AIR Centre Executive Director Miguel Miranda will participate in a panel discussion during the two-day event. Miranda will join the opening segment of the “Cross Cutting Atlantic Science Interactions” session on September 26, alongside distinguished experts including Katja Matthes from GEOMAR, representatives from IOC-UNESCO, Alan Haynie from the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES), The Ocean Race, and Rachel Clausing from Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco.

The panel will focus on strengthening cross-Atlantic scientific collaboration and developing robust support networks that enhance research cooperation across the Atlantic basin. This session addresses critical needs for coordinated scientific approaches to tackle shared challenges in Atlantic ocean governance, climate adaptation, and marine conservation.

The All-Atlantic Forum serves as the premier annual gathering for Atlantic ocean stakeholders, bringing together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and conservation organizations from across the Atlantic region. The event facilitates dialogue on sustainable ocean management strategies and promotes collaborative initiatives that benefit Atlantic communities.

AIR Centre’s participation underscores its commitment to fostering international partnerships and advancing scientific cooperation that supports evidence-based ocean governance throughout the Atlantic region.
