This year’s G-STIC was the key meeting place and global platform for market-ready integrated technological solutions aiming to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Starting in 2017 with a conference attended by more than 1000 participants, this year’s edition took place from the 20th to the 22nd November and attracted a larger crowd.

Given the shared interests, the AIR Centre was present at the event with their own stand, in order to promote the company and the activities as well as acquire further knowledge about production & technology development.

The conference focused on 6 societal challenges: climate, education, energy, health, oceans and water, sharing the spotlight with 5 cross-cutting themes: circular economy, geospatial, ICT, gender and youth. The event consists on semi-plenary sessions, during which new methods and goals to be attained are discussed in order to engage both policymakers, delegates of the private sector, researchers and scientists. Deep dives concerning a specific cluster of each technological solution for one or more challenges are based on discussions regarding key policy recommendations and actions needed to deploy them.
