Jorge Miguel Alberto de Miranda, Executive Director of the AIR Centre. President of the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere, from 2013 to 2023. Full Professor at the University of Lisbon. He has held and still holds several leading positions in international organizations in his scientific area. He has directed several academic and scientific organizations, and developed research activity in Geomagnetism, Marine Geophysics and Natural Hazards. He is the author or co-author of +100 indexed articles, published in the main scientific journals of Geophysics. He is vice-president of the science class of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences.
