On September 16th, 2022, 1-2 PM UTC, Dr. Zacharie Sohou will guide us through the relevant work at the service of development that has been developed by the Institut de Recherches Halieutiques et Océanologiques du Bénin (Benin Fisheries and Oceanological Research Institute – IRHOB).

Dr. Zacharie Sohou is the Director of the Benin Fisheries and Oceanological Research Institute (IRHOB) of the Benin Center for Scientific Research and Innovation (CBRSI). He is a professor and researcher at the Department of Zoology (FAST/UAC)/Abomey-Calavi University and the Chairman of the Working Group on Demersal Fish Stock Assessments in the South Atlantic Zone COPACE/FAO. Dr. Sohou is a member of the ad hoc Committee on Science and Technology (CST) of the Abidjan Convention, Focal Point of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO) and IODE, National Focal Point for IOCAFRICA, National Coordinator of the ODINAFRICA Program of the IOC, responsible and manager of fisheries and oceanographic data, member of the United Nations group of experts for the drafting of “World Ocean Assessment I & II”, and the National Coordinator of the Research Program on Marine Mammals (whales, dolphins, killer whales, etc.) September 2000 to date. Dr. Zacharie has a PhD on Fisheries Oceanography from the Federal Institute for Fisheries Research and Oceanography –VNIRO-Moscow/Russia, He is a Senior Lecturer on Statistics Applied to Fisheries (Biostatistics) from the University of Moncton and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Canada. and he has a MSc. on Industrial Fisheries 1989 from the Technical Institute of Fisheries Astrakhan –Russia)
