Networking Friday on Managing the Nigerian Coastal Communities for Sustainable Blue Economy Development

The Nigeria coastal communities are found within the Niger-Delta States, which border contiguously with the Atlantic Ocean. They are predominantly rural and lack the essential social infrastructure. However, the area is a historical hub of huge and largely unregulated fishing commercial activities, and suffers from pollution and environmental degradation. The project is proposed to build data and information that can be used to manage the area for sustainable socio-economic and environmental development.
The session introduces the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), which is the national Space Agency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and also highlights possible areas of collaboration in scientific and technological projects.
