SOLAS-Portugal opens contributions for 2025 Ocean–Atmosphere Research Report
Portugal’s community working on ocean–atmosphere interactions has grown into an active and diverse network, closely connected to the Atlantic and to international efforts under SOLAS – Surface Ocean–Lower Atmosphere Study.
The newly released SOLAS‑Portugal Report 2024 highlights this diversity, showcasing work ranging from marine heatwaves and polar research to satellite observations, field campaigns and science–society initiatives. It also points to the value of bringing this community even closer together.
With this momentum, preparations are now underway for the SOLAS‑Portugal Report 2025, and researchers across Portugal, including those in the wider AIR Centre community, are invited to contribute. The report aims to map national activities linked to ocean–atmosphere processes, strengthen Portugal’s visibility within the global SOLAS network, and support a more connected national community.
Contributions may include publications, projects, fieldwork, modelling, Earth Observation studies, conference participation, outreach activities and photos from campaigns or laboratory work.
Submissions are open until 22 April 2026 and can be sent directly to Catarina Guerreiro (National Representative for SOLAS Portugal).
