The S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION project officially kicked off on January 30, 2025, bringing together 12 partners from across Europe to rethink water management through art and technology.
This initiative leverages technological innovation and an interdisciplinary approach to transform water management in Europe, by combining artistic creativity with advanced technology. Focused around four key water basins, it supports artists in developing sustainable solutions through a 9-month residency followed by a 4-month scale-up phase, using cutting-edge technologies like AI, digital twins, and nature-based solutions.
Key activities include Water Innovation Labs (WILs) for local collaboration, a residency program for water-related prototypes, and acceleration initiatives for market adoption.
Through exhibitions, workshops, and educational initiatives, S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION aims to engage communities, policymakers, and industries, creating a transformative impact on water sustainability, and contributing for the future generations of Europe.
The Consortium gathers diverse expertise from organizations including INNOVATION SERVICES S.A. (INOVA+), AIR Centre, Stichting Society Waag (WAAG), Ars Electronica Linz GmbH & Co KG (AE), Global Network of Water Museums (WAMU-NET), KIKK, Pro Progressione Kulturális Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft.
