The AIR Centre attended the 10th edition of the INESC TEC Autumn Forum, held yesterday at Casa da Música in Porto. The event coincided with a special celebration of INESC’s 40th anniversary in Porto.
The AIR Centre took part in the 4th International Conference of Portuguese and Spanish Languages, held in Cabo Verde on 11-12 November 2024. Deputy Executive Director Sofia Cordeiro joined a panel on Language Economics alongside representatives from Observatorio Nebrija del Español, ISCTE-IUL, and TAP Air Portugal.
The AIR Centre’s Executive Director, Miguel Miranda, participated in the International Conference on Sustainable Fishing and Aquaculture (CIPAS 2025) in Luanda, Angola, showcasing the application of Copernicus Earth Observation data to enhance ocean monitoring and support fisheries operations in Angolan waters.
The AIR Centre will showcase the Internal Waves Service (IWS) at the Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026 (OSM26), running February 22-27 in Glasgow, UK.
Cabo Verde Ocean Week is taking place from November 2 to 7 in Mindelo, São Vicente. The event is bringing together high-level representatives, including government ministers, regional organisations, and technical experts from across West Africa and beyond, to address key priorities in ocean governance, sustainable fisheries, the blue economy, and marine resource management.
The AIR Centre, in collaboration with Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente – APA (Algarve), Indra Deimos, and DHI Group, hosted an online Living Lab focused on leveraging Earth Observation data to support water resource monitoring in the Algarve region.
