PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SFT-EDIH is the digital innovation hub for the agri-food sector, a single access point for the digitalization of the sector, from farm to fork, and its mission is to accelerate the adoption of key technologies for the digital transition, such as artificial intelligence (AI) , internet of things (IoT), data science, blockchain, photonics, robotics, virtual and augmented reality and cybersecurity.
SFT-EDIH directly supports SMEs and the public sector through a set of structured training and qualification services, testing and adaptation of digital solutions (“test before investing”), access to financing, access to innovation and support networks to start-ups.
It is based on a consortium formed by 27 key entities for the digitalization of the agri-food sector.

AIR Centre’s role in the Consortium is to provide remote sensing and earth observation related services using open data. The expected services provision shall focus on recommendations to farmers, supporting a better agronomic and territorial management. This will be accomplished through the development of products related with crop and pasture management, radiation and air quality, combined with other local and remote sensing data such as temperature and humidity IoT sensors to meet the needs of the final end users.
